Lollipops and Elephants!

Hello, fellow stampers!

The past week has been busy for me doing non-stamping related activities. Go figure! Thank goodness I had some time to spare to play last night, late last night.

First off, the last workshop for my friend, Ulrika, was soooo successful she earned pretty awesome hostess credits. I was very excited for her and thankful for all the attendees who allowed me to show them a glimpse of Stampin' Up. I demo'ed Sweets for the Sweet during our last workshop. I couldn't get enough of it so I made more samples, including a suggestion from my hubby since I'm into candy bouquets and all. I just love this set and the new colors of the Brights Collections. They work great together! I also used Sponge Daubers to smear the background and Dazzling Diamonds to make the lollipops, well, pop! Let's not forget the Crystal Effects used on the vase and cellophane stamps.

I have been dying to make a card this week and needed some inspiration to kickstart a creation. Who knew I would've gotten it from a fellow stamper and friend who has an affinity for elephants and just happened to celebrate a birthday this weekend. Happy belated birthday!!! A few workshops ago, this lady wanted to change her card from a cup to an elephant (from the Patterned Occasions set), not one stamped elephant but a series of the same elephants. I thought I knew what she wanted so I tried to do it for her. I thought I did a pretty ok job lining it up, but it turned out it wasn't really what she had in mind, although she did say she still liked it. Uh huh.

Two-step stamping

In any case, I thought I'd give it another go this weekend. This time, I have my handy dandy tool called Stamp-a-majig, which is great for lining up two images on the same card (used a lot in two-step stamping). My dear friend, this is for you.

So what's next? Well, I can't wait for our next regular get-together. It will be on July 28th at my house.

In the meantime, I would love to see what creations you have made. If you allow me, I love to show them off here as well. I will have my daughter pick her favorite and win bragging rights and even a cool prize from me. We'll give it until July 15th for the deadline.

Happy Stamping!
