Minimalism at its max

We had another fun experience at the last workshop hosted by my awesome friend, Ulrika. I tell ya, she is the perfect partner to feed our addiction unleash one's creativity! What an enabler! The ladies I met are also lovely and such pleasure to be stamping with. Thank you for coming!

My cards tend to be detailed. For this workshop, I went outside my comfort zone and challenged myself to make minimalistic cards that hold a lot of punch, given that we started in the evening and time was a constraint. At the same time, I also wanted to spotlight the beauty that is Crystal Effects. This goodie provides the lacquer look on an image and I thought that it would go very well with the stamp set Sweet for the Sweets. I applied it on the cellophane stamp covering the lollipops. The challenge with this product itself is that it takes hours (sometimes overnight) to dry. Luckily, I found out that placing it in front of a fan would dry it in twenty minutes! I used the new colors in the 2013-2014 Catalog of the Bright Colors for the lollipops and used the embossed Crumb Cake as their backdrop. Sweet!

The next card is very endearing. I made my sample a Father's Day card as I pay homage to all the fathers for their day this Sunday. At the same time, this card is versatile that it can be used for any occasion and either for a man or a woman. In fact, that is exactly what our stampers did at this workshop. Everyone had their sentiment of choice for this card! And they were all looking lovely! The card uses neutral and subtle colors softened by a linen thread. I also thought the size of the Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiments go very well with this card. I had the warm fuzzies after seeing the final product. Now if I can just hurry up and send them off, that would be an accomplishment.

With that, I wish everyone a good weekend and hope to see you at our next workshop on Sunday, July 28th!

Happy Stamping!
