Where was I???

Hi all.....miss me??? The past couple of weeks had just been filled with memorable family events and with school that started right around the corner, my time for blogging just got sucked out of existence. Temporarily, that is. This does not mean that I haven't been stamping. No way! In fact, it's the opposite. I have just done two workshops last week and not to mention preparing for the Big Stamp-a-stack event that is happening this Saturday. Feeling a little pressure but that's when I work the best so I welcome it!

Enough of such talk, let's show off some cards from the workshop already! Doing a workshop coming from a vacation was quite an event to pull. My dear friend, Ulrika hosted the workshop and as always, I enjoyed meeting new people from this event and was happy to see familiar faces! It took some time to whip out the first card but I was happy with the results. I heat embossed Serene Silhouettes and brayered over it with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango. To highlight the image, I used the Label framelits collection to pop a window. The sentiment is from Happy Day and finished it off with candy dots from the Brights Collection. Love how this card came together!

The second workshop this weekend was pretty special and challenging! What do I do to keep the attention of five naturally charged six year olds at workshop like mine??? I had some ideas in my head but didn't really know how and what would click with these kids. I wanted to do punch art and had the kids put them together. Thank goodness for Pinterest or I wouldn't have a clue where to begin. These cards are CASED with a little tweak from me. I prepunched and pre-embossed the papers beforehand so the kids could focus on their cards. I also brought a set of birthday stamps in case they wanted to use them.

For the bee card, I used googlie eyes from Michael's and glimmer paper for the wings. What a fun fun card!!!

The next card was just appropriate for what ever is left of summer. I used Sweater Weather desginer paper for the scoops of ice cream and cone.

The punch art was a hit but which was great. What blew my mind, however, is that they had a better time stamping the sentiment on the inside of the card than working with punch art. Go figure!!!! I should have just brought clean cardstocks and a couple of inkpads and let them go to town. Ayyayaay!!!

  2. We had a great time at the workshop Maria. The girls that stopped in want to join us next time. The cards were a big hit.

When you said you had two workshops, I was thinking why wasn't I invited to the second one ;) The cards you came up with for the girls were so cute.
