Party More. Get More. Treats for Everyone.

For those who want to host a party in October, get something a little extra...

For our stampers who are ready to seize their opportunity as demonstrators, here's a little nudge....

Fly, Fly Butterfly

Well there went September! I was here, I was there. I was moving so fast I was convinced I was in two places at once. Well, maybe that was the adrenaline talking. In any case. I'm happy to say that I met all my commitments and everyone is happy. I was even able to squeeze in some play time with my tramps last Saturday. I do have to say that it took me a while to redirect my serious self to my playful self. It was a much needed break and so nice to see everyone.

I challenged myself to not use my beloved Big Shot. After all, there were cards made pre-Big Shot days, and they were beautiful! And I came through I hope. Thank goodness for the Papillon Potpourri  set that came just in time for me to play with.

I went two-tone on the first card using Island Indigo and Whisper White. The 3D butterfly is my focal point  stamping it once on paper and making a cutout to apply over the stamped image. I finished it off with Basic Pearl Jewels and Frost White Shimmer paint for a more dramatic effect. The Blooming with Kindness stamp set makes for a perfect backdrop for this card.

The second card is my Ode to Summer (although I'm not sure it wants to leave our area -- we're having a heat wave this week). I used strictly Whisper White on this card. The stripes are made by applying Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry using Sponge Daubers and masking them on the card. To add a little bit of flair, I made a mosaic of butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri set with fun corners. The sentiment and brushed scroll is from the Happy Day stamp set.

There have you it. Hope to be ramping up on making more cards pretty soon. I have a Holiday Fair to attend and our next workshop both in November!
