Many Thanks!

Thankful to the bountiful blessings I have received throughout the years: a family who completes me, wonderful friends, old and new, for the wisdom and laughter they share with me. Lastly, my gratitude to life's experiences for as tough and as surreal as they have been made me the woman that I am today - continuing to embrace this deck I have.

Joyful Tidings

In a couple of days, it will be Thanksgiving. Oddly enough, the cards I have been making are for Christmas. That's how much I love this holiday! It doesn't mean that I like Thanksgiving any less.

Today, I share one of the holiday cards I showcased at the Holiday Boutique. I love the combination of Pool Party and Real Red mounted on my all-time favorite layer, Crumb Cake. I accented the sides with designer paper from Season of Style from the Holiday Catalog.  The Christmas tree stamp is from a retired set, Holiday Tag Team, embossed in white. I thought to combine Basic Pearls and Candy Dots from the Brights Collection. The sentiment is from Christmas Messages. To finish off the card, I drew a white border using a white pencil.

Enjoy this little creation from me. Know that I'm always thinking and cooking up new cards for everyone to serve as an inspiration for you all.

Feeling the Love

Hello there!

I have been away from my sandbox for about a month and being able to play in it again in the past week was refreshingly therapeutical! While life's routines and circumstances are constant variables in our playbook, there is no reason why indulging in our hobbies and other activities we love to do shouldn't be a part of that as well. I know you know all this already; it is more of me talking out loud and giving myself my own advice.

I have my Tramps to thank for pushing me to go out there and keep playing. This weekend was our last workshop for the year. I have to tell you that I truly enjoyed myself to be in the company of fun loving women. Our gracious hostess with the mostest kept our bellies filled with the unlimited supply of feel-me-good scrumptious food (thanks, Janine!). Oh and let's not forget those margaritas who have done a fine job of making me tipsy (among others) almost instantaneously!

For this workshop, Janine made a special request to create holiday tags. When I first heard of the request, I had a smile on my face. While I have never made a tag in my SU! life, I had a few ideas floating in my head and also looked to my Stampin' Pretty Pals galleries for inspiration.

We made our holiday card first. I have always loved snow scene cards, perhaps because we hardly see them in our neck of the woods. There are so many wonderful tutorials online but the one I recently discovered is this snow scene technique by Heather. I went for the festive colors of Christmas - Old Olive and Real Red using the Warmth & Wonder hostess set from the 2013-2014 Holiday Catalog and embellishing it with the Cherry Cobbler baker's twine. Janine had a great idea to spruce up this card by adding a snow star in silver gel pen and putting a rhinestone in the center. What an awesome, creative finishing touch! I just love it!

Next on the list is the much awaited tags. I created three for our class. There was a lot of Big Shot cranking going on and my sore arms are testament to that (even with my dear friend, Ulrika's help). They were a hit and SU! is busy filling those Chalk Talk framelit orders.

What a way to end our workshop year. This is the good stuff, the reason why I came back and decided to do workshops - meeting wonderful people along the way. Honestly, while my creativity comes from within me, it is fueled by those who believe I can do it. Thank you for that!

What's next for me? Well, I am getting ready for the Holiday Boutique Fair at my daughter's school for next weekend. I have over 200 cards and tags to showcase. I will post my creations this week until the end of the year. So watch out for those.

For now, I shall leave you momentarily but promise to be back with awesome goodness!
